ALUMNI MEET

Finally the long awaited evening came on 28 th Jan 2006, it was AIMS Alumni meet at the college campus in Peenya.

The amphitheatre was beautifully decorated and the artificial gate made to welcome the alumni was exceptional. There were two beautiful girls ready to put 'Teeka' and welcome the alumni in traditional manner. Then the guest has to move on to reception desk that was decorated by diyas for registration. This alumni meet witnessed the highest number of alumni getting registered.

Director - Placements addressed the gathering and welcomed everyone; She called upon the team of organizers on stage that managed the event right from planning to its successful execution. Full points to BBMs who set the stage on fire. The enthusiasm and coordination being shown was really commendable. BHM too had rocking Bhangra and fusion number to perform.

Many people from corporate sector also graced the occasion. It was a moment where industry- institute interaction took place.

Prof. Kiran Reddy addressed the gathering and informed everyone about the latest developments in college. She had given the Oath to all the office bearers of AIMS Alumni Association (AAA). The office bearers are:

  1. President - Shubharnab Majumdar
  2. Vice-President - Nitin P
  3. Secretary - Amit Singh Bhaduria
  4. Joint Secretary - Prem Prakash Dayal
  5. Treasurer - Karthik
  6. Joint Treasurer - Santosh

The alumni enjoyed a lot the JAM (Just-a-minute) game. There were three teams and each consisted of four members and they were supposed to eat pastries and noodles and drink soft drinks respectively and everything in just one minute. It was great fun to watch the alumni who are corporates now eating like kids.

Next was the event of the evening "Bridging the Divide" which impressed everyone and made an impact on the current batch as well. The event was designed to seek suggestions on how we can bridge the divide that exists between the curriculums and the corporate sector. It was a competition where four teams were involved and each team has two members. Alumni came up with some very valuable suggestions such as need to take up industrial training very seriously, improve knowledge on subject specialized, keep updated with latest technology, introduction of MS Office to non technical courses, maintaining professional relationship, punctuality and many more. It gave an insight to overcome the divide and make students comfortable when they enter the corporate world.

Nevertheless, the seating arrangements and dinner was of top class and it made the event unforgettable one, thanks to BHM staff and students.

Mr. Gopal Reddy distributed the prizes to the winners of JAM and Bridging the Divide. This time the prizes were also unique in its kind such as Lunch coupons for two sponsored by Kaati Zone, movie tickets of INOX etc.

Last but not the least, DJ made everyone rock at the dance floor. The party continued until everyone dropped dead. Everyone left with a wish to assemble again at the coming Alumni meet in August 2006.
